Macro-discrimination is the societal normalization of discrimination whereby the society crates perversive norms that are discriminative of a targeted group. In such a scenario, discrimination goes beyond individual acts and permeates every societal institution. While macro-discrimination may affect all institutions of a nation, in other instances, it may affect some critical societal institutions. For example, the criminal justice system may be hell-bent on targeting groups to the extent that minority groups end up being over-represented in prisons.
